Another easy recovery pace run in the rain is in the book! My legs are still feeling a bit dead, and I may take another short easy run tomorrow - it will depend on how I feel. Otherwise I'll do another Cedar Butte run.

I'm guessing you'll make it to Cedar Butte tomorrow.

Dave: You are an absolute running machine...I didn't realize you were so close to your marathon PR down in Newport. Nice Race!! Go kick some Butte tomorrow...and stay away from the dogs. :-)

Ha! Thanks Jeff! Since I wasn't going for a max effort or PR I too was a little surprised at my time. Now if I can get some speed work in despite getting ready for the 50k next month maybe I'll have a chance at the mid 2:50s at Chicago!

What's your next marathon? Boston? :)

We have been telling your HR marathon story to all kinds of people. The wisdom spreads...

Legs *should* be dead this week. A day of "easy" running for every mile raced, right?

From DaveL on Fri, Jun 11, 2010 at 12:51:37 from 209.206.250.53

Yeah, but I'm rationalizing! I'll get 26 easy days in over the next two or three months though!

I figure since I didn't really 'race' the marathon I don't need as much recovery - and so far that seems to be the case. My resting HR has been back to normal since Tuesday, and I have no aches or pains I didn't already have. :D
